Singapore by Day: A Walking City Tour

We booked our S.E.A. Aquarium tour via Viator.com. It provides pick-up from hotels but since the inn we’re staying is not one of any “stars”, we have to go the nearest pick-up point which was the Swissotel at Stamford Road. We just took a cab to take us there. The hotel has a really nice lobby. We had a few stops at other hotels for the other tourists who had booked the same as ours. Then we’re off to Sentosa.

The S.E.A. Aquarium is a joy to my daughter who loves the water so much! It’s like seeing all those sea creatures while you’re swimming deep down. It’s like going on a field trip in school. There was a part of the tour when the tourists can engage in touching the fishes.

And even the fishes were celebrating the joyous season of Christmas!

I do not remember all the species (so many) but I just have photos to remember it. There goes a lot of “Nemo” (clownfish), blue-eyed cardinal fishes, a Leopard Whiptail Stingray and hammer-head sharks!

After an hour stay at the S.E.A. Aquarium, we went around Sentosa for some sight-seeing.

Too bad my hubby was not able to go inside USS this time. But at least he has a souvenir photo on the “globe”! 😉

But he bargained to have his first overseas Casino experience here. My daughter and I had to wait for him for 30 minutes as we rested on the benches. You just have to show your passport to enter casinos when you’re a tourist. He didn’t have money too. He just tried the slot machines.

After Sentosa, we took the free shuttle ride to Vivo City and had lunch there.

We took the MTR at Harbour Front Station going to Marina Bay Sands. We spent the afternoon walking around the city.

From the Shoppes at MBS, you can take an elevator going up where you can view the Supertree Grove of Gardens by the Bay.

We enjoyed the cool breeze with a little sunshine here. You can also see the Singapore Flyer and the Conservatories.

We walked from the MBS going to its other side and passed by the city gallery. Too bad it was already closed. My daughter would have loved to go inside.

The view was so nice from the other side overlooking Marina Bay Sands.

And of course, my husband had to get a Merlion photo too!

From here, we walked all the way to the Esplanade Park.

We ended having dinner at Makansutra Gluttons Bay. Total distance walked: 3.6 km!

We were extremely pleased to have Filipino (Gerry’s Grill) dinner after 5 days!

After dinner, we just stayed there enjoying the city lights and the evening breeze. We waited for the Light Show (at 8:00 PM) to end our last night here. I still find it better than the one in Hong Kong. Plus, there are less people making it more delightful to watch (maybe because it was a week day).

I’m so thankful we made it through this travel and I’ve earned a bucket-full of happy memories to keep in my heart! See you again, Singapore! 🙂
